Episode notes

Unattractive, unlikable, unwelcome, unimportant, or unworthy: Which “un-” resonates with you?

You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb. [14] I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord! [15] You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.

Psalm 139:13-15 TPT

Insecurity is something that everyone has, but tries to hide. Continuing with Part 2 of our Deep Insecurity: Why Emotions Matter series Russ, Ray, Brian, and Nick dive deeper and share life examples of the insecurities that drive and shape them. It is easy to ignore the inside but it is our soul that hungers for security. Our insecurity comes from our emotions and the baggage of our insecurities lingers when we avoid, neglect or consume ourselves with our emotions. That is why our emotions matter and why we need to bring them to God. We end up not having an anchor in life. We all need an anchor, and bringing those insecurities to God will give you that anchor.
